40under40 2016 - NOMINATIONS CLOSE THIS FRIDAY - 27 November!
Winners will be celebrated at a glamorous Gala Awards banquet to be held on Wednesday, 9 March 2016 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Nominations close Friday 27 November 2015 (all submissions due 02 December 2015).
Established in 2002 by BUSINESSNEWS, the 40under40 Awards programme is designed to recognise and celebrate Western Australia's 40 leading business entrepreneurs under the age of 40. The programme recognises not only personal determination and commercial drive, but also the philanthropic pursuits that balance these young individuals' professional achievements, recognising the less public contributions to the welfare of Western Australia.
Our 2015 First Amongst Equals continues to Shine
Reigning 40under40 winner Angus Turner has welcomed an investment of almost $4 million into the Lions Eye Institute and pledged to use the funds to implement a new mobile eye healthcare service for use in the state’s most remote regions. The not-for-profit institute has received $2 million from the state government and $1.9 million from Lotterywest, to be meted out over the next five years.
This year, the awards will not only identify Western Australia's top 40 young business achievers, but also single out those who excel in their respective fields:
- Small or Startup Business
- Medium sized Business
- Large sized Business
- Family Business
- Indigenous Business
- Professional Services
- Community, Social Enterprise or Not for Profit

A MESSAGE FROM BILL BEAMENT
2013 First Amongst Equals
"There is now a plethora of industry awards. But very few are as independent and objective as Business News' 40under40 programme. This means the competition is fierce and therefore to be selected as the winner is very humbling.
The selection process and subsequent awards night is extremely well coordinated and was great to be part of. The award has greatly assisted in establishing a number of new relationships with people outside my business sector, which I am sure will blossom in the years to come.
While the awards acknowledge individuals, I believe our success was a reflection of the team effort. Given the quality and achievements of the candidates in the 40under40 programme, everyone at Northern Star can be extremely proud of this result."
