Managing director
Empire Financial Group
Raymond Pecotic has started four businesses during his career, with the first being at the age of 19 while he was studying. At 24, he started the LJ Hooker Super Fund, which he sold to a publicly listed company four years later. Using the proceeds from that sale, Mr Pecotic started financial planning business Empire Financial Group, which has twice been Securitor WA’s practice of the year. Hard lessons were learned during the GFC, he said, but a proactive approach to client relations through the turbulent time had led to long-term business. Mr Pecotic has been on the WA Croatian Chamber of Commerce board, rolled-out a community based superannuation fund, and founded an annual high tea to support a Path of Hope Foundation, a women’s refuge. He is also involved in the Liberal Party, including as campaign chair for Dean Nalder in the former seat of Alfred Cove.
