As the Western Hub of Australia, Perth Airport plays a significant role in the State’s

economic, social and cultural activities by facilitating travel and employment, connecting people and places, and providing support for local communities.

The Perth Airport estate is situated on 2,105 hectares. It comprises two international

terminals (T1 and T3) and four domestic terminals (T1, T2, T3 and T4) as well as a General Aviation precinct.

Domestically, Perth Airport provides an access point to WA from interstate locations and serves as the central transportation hub for regional destinations. The airport is a vital link in the WA resources sector supply chain, providing connectivity for the fly-in, fly-out workforce.

As the fourth largest domestic and international airport in Australia, Perth Airport is

serviced by 19 international and 13 domestic and regional airlines, contributing almost $4 billion each year to the Western Australian economy.

In FY18, 13.6 million passengers passed through Perth Airport. Perth Airport is also a major employment centre within the Perth metropolitan area, generating more than 20,000 aviation and non-aviation jobs. Perth Airport has undergone a major upgrade over the past seven years with a $1 billion program that has unlocked capacity and increased efficiency, while delivering world-class customer experience.

There are plans to future proof the airport, and meet the needs of the airport’s airline

customers and the expectations of passengers.

The plans include an upgrade of the international terminal which will provide greater

capacity for airlines and a seamless experience for travellers. A new domestic terminal will be built and a new parallel runway constructed to cater for the growing economy.

Perth Airport plays an important role in the lives of many Western Australians, and is

arguably one of the State’s most important public transport infrastructure assets. It is vital to the State’s continuing prosperity that Perth Airport preserves and enhances its capacity to grow commercial aviation services that connect Perth to Western Australia, to the rest of Australia and to the world.

The focus is on providing an efficient and modern airport, that will provide the level of

service and facilities that Western Australia deserves to have as Australia’s Western Hub well into the future.
