Frank Edwards has been Chief Executive Officer of the City of Perth since April 2002. Prior to this he was Executive Manager Customer Services and then Chief Executive Officer at the Town of Kwinana.
Before entering local government he was a career Army Officer rising to the rank of Colonel. In the Army he served in command, staff and instructional postings in Australia, the United States and Papua New Guinea.
He is a graduate of the Royal Military College, Duntroon, holds a Bachelors Degree from the University of New South Wales and a Graduate Diploma in Strategic Studies. He is also a Graduate of the Army Command and Staff College and the Joint Services Staff College.
After leaving the regular Army he continued to serve in the Army Reserve and held the rank of Brigadier. He commanded 13 Brigade based at Karrakatta until December 2003.
